Extended hours
Patients can book a face to face or telephone appointment outside of our normal opening hours.
These appointments must be booked in advance and are available from 6:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Additionally, there are appointments available at the weekends. Please ask reception who will be pleased to book you into one of the appointments.
Out of hours service
When the practice is closed, there is an out of hours emergency medical service available at all times for urgent and emergency problems. This service should not be used to avoid consulting during regular hours. For out of hours help, dial 111 (a free-phone number nationwide). Trained staff at the call control centre will handle your enquiry.
On dialling 111, a team of fully trained advisers and experienced nurses will assess your condition and direct you to the local service that can help you best, whether it is your GP surgery, an out-of-hours GP, A&E, a local urgent care centre, an emergency dentist, or a late-opening pharmacist. The 111 service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Remember, the out of hours service is for urgent problems only. Please do not contact this service for a second opinion or for anything that can wait until the next working day. For minor ailments, you can visit your local pharmacy for help or be directed to the next available service.
In a genuine emergency, you should call 999. Chest pains and/or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
NHS 111 BSL
The NHS 111 service is available for deaf people to contact 111 medical staff through fully qualified and experienced interpreters. This service is for:
- Needing help quickly, but it is not an emergency
- Thinking you might need to go to A&E but are not in imminent danger
- Not knowing who to contact, or if your GP is unavailable
- Needing health information or advice on what to do next
How to make contact
Go to SignVideo – NHS 111 and click on general health. A BSL interpreter will appear on your screen. You can make contact in BSL from any computer, and almost all tablets and mobile phones.
Mental health crisis
If you or someone you know is experiencing a life-threatening medical or mental health emergency, you should call 999 or go to A&E. A mental health emergency should be taken as seriously as a medical emergency. If you feel close to acting on suicidal thoughts or have seriously harmed yourself, you should call 999 or go to A&E immediately.

Protected learning time/ staff training days
Protected learning time (PLT) is an opportunity for practice staff to address their own learning and professional development needs.

To accommodate staff training, the surgery doors will be closed, and routine appointments will not be available during the following dates between 2:30pm and 6:30pm.
