Ordering Repeat Prescriptions
If you’re on long-term medication, you can order repeat prescriptions through:
- Your NHS account via the NHS website or the NHS App
- SystmOnline, our GP online system
These platforms display your repeat medications and dosages, allowing you to select the ones you need.
Alternatively, you can:
- Complete a Medication Request form to request a repeat prescription or medication review
- Use your local pharmacy’s order and collect service
- Submit a request in person or by post
Note: We do not accept repeat prescription requests via phone or email.
Collecting Your Prescription
- Prescriptions are typically ready 7 working days after your request.
- We operate a 28-day prescribing policy, issuing prescriptions for 28 days at a time.
- You’ll need to nominate a pharmacy to collect your prescriptions.
You can change your nominated pharmacy:
- Through the app or website you use to order prescriptions
- At any pharmacy that accepts repeat prescriptions
Prescription Queries
For questions about your medication, your local pharmacist can provide advice on:
- How and when to take your medicine
- Possible side effects and interactions
- Over-the-counter alternatives
You can also consult the NHS Medicines A to Z for detailed information.
If you need to speak to someone at the GP surgery about your prescription, please complete a Medication Request form.
Medication Reviews
Patients with repeat prescriptions may be asked to attend regular reviews. We’ll contact you when it’s time for a review.
You can also request a review at any time by completing a Medication Request form.
Prescription Charges
- The NHS prescription charge is a standard flat rate.
- Exemptions and remission schemes are available for those who qualify.
- If you require multiple prescriptions, a Prescription Prepayment Certificate (PPC) could offer savings.

Disposing of Unused Medicines
Please do not dispose of old medicines in household bins or flush them down the toilet. Instead, return them to your pharmacy or bring them to the surgery for safe disposal.
