🩸 World Blood Donor Day – 14th June 2025

Donate Blood, Save Lives

Every year on 14th June, we observe World Blood Donor Day, a global event to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to thank voluntary, unpaid donors for their life-saving gift of blood.

Why This Day Matters

Although the 20th anniversary was celebrated last year in 2024, the message remains just as powerful in 2025: your blood donation makes a real difference. It supports emergency care, surgery, cancer treatment, and chronic condition management. There is no substitute for human blood—only you can provide it.

Why Donate?

  • One donation can help save up to three lives.
  • It only takes about an hour.
  • It helps ensure hospitals and emergency services are ready when patients need them.

How You Can Get Involved

  • Donate Blood: If you’re eligible, consider becoming a donor. You can register through the NHS Blood and Transplant website or your local service.
  • Thank a Donor: Know someone who gives blood? Take a moment to thank them—and maybe follow their example.
  • Raise Awareness: Share this page or post on social media to inspire others.

Thank You, Blood Donors

To every person who has ever donated blood: thank you. Your generosity continues to save and improve lives every single day.
